What is a furnace blower?
The blower in your furnace circulates the hot air throughout your home. A furnace that uses a forced hot air system has a blower, plenum and a burner that all work together to heat your home. The burner is fired up by use of oil, and then the air is gathered by the plenum and spread throughout the house using the blower.
What are the advantages of a furnace blower?
Forced hot air has the advantage of typically heating the home the fastest. Radiators typically take much longer to sufficiently heat the home because they use hot steam to deliver the heat. However, other typical home heaters, whether it’s forced hot water, steam, forced hot air, or electric, functions in essentially the same way.
What does furnace blower repair entail?
Furnace motor repair usually entails the replacement of motor bearings, drive belts, cleaning of the fan blades, and lubrication of the motor. Other problems can also be addressed.
